Job Summary:

To assist with the day-to-day activities relating to the bakery operation. Maintaining outstanding department condition with fully fresh stocked and visual merchandising standards. Provide basic customer services by understanding customers’ inquiries.

Role and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the opening and closing of the bakery section according to the procedure on a daily basis and as required.
Handle baking pastries and preparing fresh bread, pastries, and other baked goods when needed.
Display bakery items and products on the shelves and counters.
Participate in the daily quality control of products and report any issues to the superior.
Perform daily checks on price change reports to ensure every product has the correct price and description.
Ensure the correct information on POP cards and display according to company standards and government rules requirements. vii. Maintain personal grooming (hygiene & appearance) and clean the bakery section on daily basis to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food handling guidelines.
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the storage area, selling floor, and entire department as well as equipment (baking utensils, tools, and machinery) according to the company SOP.
Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) & FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practice in cold room storage and display area through daily check on the expiry dates and freshness of the products.
Assist in minimizing and controlling the product disposal and reducing shrinkage percentage with limit set by management.
Always provide good services to the customers.
Assist and support all sales, marketing, and promotional activities.
Perform any other duties in general operational functions and ad-hoc assignments.

Qualification and Education Requirements:

Candidates must possess at least a vocational certificate (SKM) in bakery, pastry, or any relevant courses.
Minimum 2 years working experience in bakery or patisserie.

Preferred Skills:

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English. Mandarin-speaking will be an advantage
Basic communication skills and interpersonal skills
Customer satisfaction oriented.
Friendly, helpful, and engaging personality.
Meticulous, proactive, and food hygiene.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
